About the Don't Buy List
All makes and models have strengths and weaknesses. Our Don't Buy List does not judge a car unless its weaknesses are so overwhelming as to indicate a poor buying choice. Take for example the Daewoo.
Daewoo filed bankruptcy. As a result his car is no longer being sold in the US. It has created a nightmare in the area of warrantee, servicing, and obtaining parts. There were also insurance companies that refused to insure the Daewoo. On top of all the adversities was the nosedive in resale value. To clear their inventory dealers were practically giving the troubled car away.
The Don't Buy List is based on our judgment and we only invite you to follow our logic. Buying a car is one of the largest buying decisions you will make. We are only trying to help you make an intelligent decision. At times price alone is not enough. For example the Daewoo. What seemed like a great price has come back to haunt buyers. Many buyers of the Daewoo lost an enormous amount of value in the resale, warrantee, parts, and insurance.
