Getting the Best Price

by Paul Barrett

If you don't want to get cheated, ripped-off, high-pressured, scammed, hoodwinked, swindled, conned, jacked around, screwed, suckered or fleeced.

On this page you will find several strategies for getting a better price on the car you buy. You may be surprised to find that most strategies do not involve negotiating.

Before Negotiating
If the thought of negotiating gives you an anxiety attack, be calm. There are other options. The Institute started the IFI Discount Buying Club that allows members to purchase a new car at a low no-haggle price. Although the member price will vary from dealership to dealership, as well as the popularity of the car and market conditions, membership price will be very close to dealer's cost or invoice. Another option we offer is an online quote or buying system that allows you to obtain a low internet price for your vehicle. Another important factor in getting the best price on the car is to obtain financing at a low price. We are trying to find financing sources that will offer excellent rates. Being cool headed and knowledgeable instead of emotional will also help you get the best price. Below are several links to help steer you into a best price encounter.

Buying On-Line
No cost! No obligation! No negotiating! Just one click away...
One of our members just called in. They got an "awesome deal." They just purchased an SUV for $250 under invoice. Local dealers were selling the same vehicle over sticker price! Many salespeople are extremely unhappy with this developing trend.

"I hate internet sales," one salesperson said. "We sell the thing for a thousand over sticker. On the internet, they're selling it below invoice. That's insane."
We say, "thank God for the internet". Online Quotes

Financing
Financing has become an area where dealers were making a killing and consumers were getting killed. Zero percent financing has helped in some instances. But hurt in others. Too often the option is a discount or zero percent, this is a wash. The best option is to take a huge discount and find low interest financing on your own. Some buyers don't qualify for low cost financing and dealers will take you to the cleaners. Find low cost financing on your own. Understand what the terms mean.

Need an Auto Loan? - Check rates in your area.

Do not settle for a vehicle that does not entirely meet your transportation needs because of low dealer or manufacturer incentive financing. Sometimes dealers or manufacturers offer extremely low APR financing on vehicles that the dealer is having a hard time selling. That's why it helps to have initially identified the correct vehicle before encountering the sales pitches and other influences of buying a vehicle.

Negotiating

If you are willing to negotiate to a rock bottom shark terrorizing price on your own - we will show you how. We hope to be of service to you.
In the negotiating stage, you must focus on the dealer' cost and calculate how much more you are willing to pay. The salesperson will always start the negotiation process with the manufacturer' suggested retail price (MSRP) or sticker price. We suggest that you never pay this price or anything close to it. If the salesperson is inflexible it may be time to go to another dealer. On our site we have chosen those dealer who are willing to offer you a great price. Most often the price they offer is as good as the best negotiated price you can make. At other times if you are willing to spend the time playing the "game" you can save several hundred dollars. (According to new studies women have a tendency to avoid the negotiation process - if you are a women, click here.)

Are you tough? Do you like mind games? Do you need to save every penny possible on a new or used car? Then negotiating is for you! We will show you how to get the most vehicle for the money you spend. How to Negotiate

In the Financial Wisdom Seminar we teach you how to save money on all your purchases. Let us help you get wise.

Remember, my job is to help you become financially stable, secure and independent. I will do my best , you do your best.
